A Whole Bunch of Frozen Cocktail Recipes

It all started when I was looking to clear some space in the freezer. We had over a kilo of frozen strawberries, and instead of baking with them, I felt like something different. Cue the Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri.

Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri

(Makes 2)

  • 500g Strawberries, blended then sieved to remove seeds
  • 200g Ice
  • 100ml White rum
  • Juice of 1 lime
  1. Tip the sieved strawberry puree into the blender and add the ice, rum and lime juice.
  2. Blend again and divide the mixture between 2 glasses.
  3. Garnish with a slice of lime or strawberry.

A weekend later, after ordering everything required for margaritas we found ourselves looking at our blender again. In all fairness the continuing warm weather led to this, plus my absolute craving for a margarita. (It ended up being many and the hangover was interesting…).

Frozen Margaritas

(Makes 2)

  • 100ml Silver/Blanco tequila
  • 50ml Cointreau (or Triple Sec if you can get it)
  • 50ml Lime juice
  • 30ml Sugar syrup
  • 200g Ice
  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth.
  2. Tip into a cocktail, margarita or rocks glass, garnish with a slice of lime and serve.
  3. You can salt your glasses rims too, we did because they make margs about a million times more amazing…

Most recently we found ourselves exploring with Dr W’s favourite cocktail, the Dark & Stormy. I was wondering how well it would work as a frozen cocktail, but they turned out to be amazing. I was genuinely surprised, and would definitely make again.

Frozen Dark and Stormy

(Makes 2)

  • 250ml Ginger beer (try and leave it to get flat otherwise the blending is interesting)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 200g Ice
  • 100ml Dark rum (we always use Kraken)
  1. Blend all of the ingredients, being careful if your ginger beer is still fizzy.
  2. Pour into glasses and garnish with a lime wedge.
